Yellowstone is a place, not an eruption. There have been many different types of eruptions from the Yellowstone area, from ultra-plinian super-volcanic, caldera forming eruptions, to plinian eruptions, to mildly explosive lava dome eruptions, to non-explosive, effusive basalt flow eruptions.
